Nils Böcking studied industrial engineering (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) and business administration (B.Sc.) at the University of Siegen from 2017 to 2023. In addition, he was a recipient of the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship as part of his master’s studies. Based on the engineering degree, he completed advanced training to become an International Welding Engineer in 2021. He was able to gain industrial experience in various medium-sized companies, especially in the field of welding technology. In addition to developing and optimizing arc technologies, he was able to gain valuable project experience while performing his duties as a responsible welding supervisor.

After completing his master’s degree, Nils Böcking has been a research assistant at the Chair of Information Systems and New Media since June 2023 and is strengthening the “ATLAS” research project. The focus here is on supporting medium-sized automotive suppliers in the area of digital transformation.
