    Roman Englert received the M.Sc. in Computer Science and Statistics of Economics from the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, Germany in 1994. The Doctorate has been completed in Computer Science and Photogrammetry at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn in 1998. A subsequent Post-Doctorate has been absolved in the Institute of Pattern Recognition and Image Processing at the Technical University of Vienna until 1999. In March 2008 he completed the Habilitation in the area of Planning and Scheduling at the Technical University of Berlin. In the same month he became an Assistant Professor at Ben-Gurion University (Israel) for Usability Engineering and a faculty member of the Information System Engineering department. Since 2010 he is teaching at the University of Siegen, again. Roman Englert has more than 60 publications in international journals and conferences. Currently, Roman Englert is working for the Deutsche Telekom AG in Bonn as Scientific Director. He was awarded with a Doctoral Fellowship from the Evangelisches Studienwerk Villigst e.V., Germany.
    His research interests are in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with focus on bias detection for learning samples (big data) and the powerfulness, i.e. limitations, of AI. This includes application areas for elderlies and ICT, and medicine.
